What X displays as a GIF is actually a short, silent MP4 loop — the platform converted it on upload. So you will get an MP4 with no audio track, which is correct and not a bug. If you specifically need a .gif file, convert the MP4 afterwards.
Old twitter.com links and current x.com links resolve identically, so bookmarks from before the rename still work. Only public posts resolve — protected accounts require a logged-in session, which we do not use.
